Casting gleams across my path
I was spellbound from the start
Shining bright amongst what's dark
You played hopscotch with my heart

Dancing shadows lay in wait
Only feigning make believe
Flaunting beams but laying low
I learnt quick how you'd deceive

Treading softly with each step
I dare break this light diffused
Hiding now within plain sight
No longer am I confused
