Mellow Yellow

Mellow Yellow - 24" x 30" - Acrylic - June 2011

Well, there you have it! Done! (actually I finished it a couple of weeks ago, but have had so much on the go - including having this painting, along with a few others, in an exhibition!)

I have to say that I've got mixed feelings about finishing this painting - for starters, it was such a challenge, which works both ways for me... there was struggle involved, first in getting the stitches on the cap, and then for some strange reason, it took three attempts to finally get to a point whereby I was satisfied with that darn hair!) - the other side of that challenge... well... I don't turn many down, and because of the detail in this one, I was so immersed in it, that I really didn't want it to be over with!

Can hardly wait!! I haven't painted in two WHOLE weeks, and I'm starting to suffer major withdrawal, so hope to start VERY soon

Oh, I should mention that this is another limited palette attempt... only black, white and yellow ochre!
