Burning Bridges - Watercolour - 20" x 28" - May 2012

I think it's finished! This is my beautiful daughter Robin, with her gorgeous fiery red hair that I have become so fond of painting.

For this portrait, I used only four colours - a far cry fewer than my last one. I'm quite impressed with how colourful it seems in spite of the limited palette.

I have a desire to paint a HUGE canvas in acrylic for my next one - stay tuned!!

You have a very beautiful daughter, and I see what you mean about painting the hair, I also enjoy painting hair. All the colours look really good and the background is nothing but interesting. You really seem to get the facial features right.
